On set in Waterloo...

Hey everyone, here's a shot from this mornings shoot. Gillian Horgan here, playing young Joy in the flashback scene having fun walking into a Green Abyss.
I am shooting the elements that make up this scene using a motion control camera rig which I will post a video of later on.

Enjoy!

Filming the Final shots tomorrow!

Hey everyone,

We'll be filming the final elements in a greenscreen studio in Waterloo, London tomorrow. I am happy to have Sam Coley, the First AD from the Auckland shoot last year on the crew tomorrow (although he didn't come all the way just for me!)

I'll post some pictures from the shoot soon.

Wish us luck

The end is near!

On Friday 15th July, we will be finally filming the visual effects shot for the end of Forget-Me-Not. After a long time in the waiting due to weddings and intense periods of work, I am really pleased to be moving again on the project.

After that, it will be a fast paced series of events to bring together the music, written by the fantastic Neil Clements, the graded final film and the special effects.

Watch this space for updates!

Stuck in the Post Production trap!

I promised myself it wouldn't happen before I started this film - the typical school boy error of not leaving enough of a budget for post production. I decided to go all guns blazing and spend more than I probably should have by filming on the lovely RED ONE© camera instead of the low budget, short film easy option of the Canon 5D, which to be honest I am not convinced of at all. This decision however has delayed the completion of the film by 6 months, nevertheless I stand by the choice I made.

There is one scene left to film, well one fairly complicated visual effects green-screen shoot anyway. I vow to have this done by the end of April. So there you have it ladies and gents - watch this space!

A sneak peak at the storyboards...

I can't show too many here as it would give away the story but here are some drawn by Paul Tinker. http://tinkysdraws.blogspot.com/

Some screen shots....

These screen shots were taken from the offline edit, none of them have been colour corrected. Got to love the gorgeous RED camera :)
